The Alpha Course for us really created a massive “u-turn” in our lives. My wife Brenda and I were recently married (around 2 months when the course started) and Brenda suggested that we join the Alpha Course after she heard Mandy talk about the course in mass one Sunday morning.I was quite dismissive at first as I had done the course before so I felt it was unnecessary to do it again, but my wife was very excited. We loved it. We were excited to be part of it, and we were really blessed to have an awesome group. The most impactful part of the Alpha journey for us was the Holy Spirit weekend. We felt the power of the Holy Spirit come alive in both of us and our lives have completely changed since that weekend.
We now live for God – we live to serve God, we have asked God to use us as His instruments and we carry out our faith daily. We have secured friendships from within our small group and have even continued with the small group and developed it into a home cell group post Alpha.
This has been the absolute best experience for our marriage, as newlyweds – we have built a foundation of Christ in our marriage at this very early stage – we are so blessed and grateful that God called us to do this, and that we have been obedient to His call.
This journey has been life-changing for both of us. Literally.
