News from Jeremy's Desk..

I am delighted to welcome you to the latest edition of our SA News update! Having bid farewell in June to Christopher Harrison who served well as voluntary Regional Director for Alpha Gauteng in the past 12 months, this week we begin advertising for a full-time leader for the province who will passionately lead the amazing Alpha team in Gauteng to the next level. Please pass this advert on to anyone you know who may just fit the bill!

This month we bid a sad farewell to one of our Alpha champions, Lucky Sibeko, who lost his battle with a very harsh illness. Lucky was our development coordinator in the Western Cape and has served local churches passionately through Alpha, particularly in Cape Town townships. See you on the other side brother! Siviwe Minyi who was covering for Lucky during his illness has stepped in to begin this role and comes from a rich experience of church ministry and leadership. Welcome to Siviwe!

Last week the brother of one of our Alpha SA donors who had died was flying out to Cape Town for the funeral. The brother, not a church-goer, was sitting next to a man from the U.S. with whom he struck up a conversation and by the time they landed the man had made him promise that he would do an Alpha Course when he returned to England! I don't think there has been a time like this in history when you could invite a perfect stranger to Alpha on the opposite side of the world from you - and inevitably find a course just round the corner!

Earlier this month the Department of Correctional Services HQ sent us news that their records showed 3567 men and women did Alpha in a South African prison in the last 12 months! Just this week 115 new Alpha courses in the community were started out of one Cape Town church. By God's grace we continue to see such amazing growth in Alpha in the most surprising of places! May God bless you richly as you serve Him with all your heart,

Jeremy
