A fire ignited in my heart

I came to Alpha looking to grow spiritually, I was actually seeking to find a Bible study. A friend suggested that I join an Alpha Course and that same Sunday at church an Alpha representative (Mandy) spoke about the Alpha Course which was to begin the following week. I was sold then and there, I didn't have any expectations and I had no idea what to expect. All I knew was that I was going to be out of my comfort zone.  

After 10 weeks of Alpha, the course became my comfort zone. I finally met Jesus. I grew a new relationship with my Father. A relationship that I thought I had before, but clearly I didn't. I met people and now have lifelong friends, thanks to God connecting His children.

Alpha Group 7 at the Bryanston Catholic Church in Johannesburg formed a deep bond that only God could provide. It is hard to put into words what I experienced because it was so special. It ignited a fire in my heart and a longing that I now have for God. I never knew how many people were serving God's purpose. Alpha helped me to realise how many people were doing their part and gave me hope that God's Word is spreading.  I now have a duty to carry the light with my new friends, and to all those who have yet to find the light of our dear Lord Jesus Christ.
