Reflections on Alpha at our church...

It always brings a great sense of gratitude towards our Heavenly Father when asked to reflect my thoughts on Alpha. Since our first running of the course in 1998 we have gained so much in the areas of prayer and trust and each and every course has brought us immense joy. To see peoples lives changed and feeling safe in the knowledge that they will be part of God's Kingdom for eternity has a reward for us as a church that is beyond compare. This last course we had 40 people - a number that allows us to really get to know each guest personally very well. The priviledge of being entrusted with their spiritual well being and the privilege of praying for and ministering to them during the Holy Spirit weekend is one where God's power is able to shine through at its supreme best, as none of these miracles that we witnessed can be through man's strength.  So we are able to magnify God in all of His evident Glory and say "only You God only You ."

As a church community we are fully committed to using the tool af Alpha Evangelism in any way God sees fit and we are so blessed to be doing so. We were able this time to also extend Alpha to our Overport branch and will be offering courses again next year in both Musgrave and Overport branches of BCC. May we all give God thanks for this ministry -  Lara Knight ( Alpha coordinator for Berea Congregational Church )
