Pollsmoor prison has just completed the first week of their third Prison Alpha this year for the Medium B section. Jen Clampett relays a wonderfully encouraging story:
"I have been privileged in my two and a half years in prison ministry to see God move in miraculous ways here, and in particular in the life of Tony, our faithful helper and co-ordinator. About a year ago he asked for the healing of his mind on our Holy Spirit Day. At the time his memory had been seriously impaired from drug abuse. However, since then, he has memorised about 20 whole books of the Bible! It is quite phenomenal and he readily testifies as to how The Lord meets his needs in prison from day to day.
Tony is in the 14th year of his 15 year sentence and has been praying for restoration between himself and his son whom he had not seen since he was incarcerated. He had prayed particularly in this regard last Sunday morning when he was called for his first prison visit in many, many years. There in front of him stood a young man whom he didn’t recognize. The man put his arms around him and hugging him said ‘Happy Father’s Day, Dad!’ Tony’s response to us was ‘I know that God REALLY, REALLY loves me!’ what a powerful story of restoration and The Lord's faithfulness in His children's lives!
