HTB Leadership Conference in London

Recently, I was able to attend the HTB Leadership Conference at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The conference was led and arranged by Holy Trinity Brompton with world renown headline speakers including Judah Smith, Christine Caine, Rick Warren, the Bishop of London and “mystery guest” Tony Blair. About 4300 leaders from around the world attended the conference – 4300 going home changed!

There were many great talks and talking points throughout the conference but I’ve come away with a stronger sense of focussing on fewer items (if there is more on your to do list than you’re able to do, there is something on there not from God – Rick Warren) and also there are a lot of good things to do but make sure you’re doing the God things – obedience to God being more important than grand plans or “doing it all”. Another key focus throughout was focussing as leaders on your own personal relationship with Jesus. How are we doing in this regard? I’m definitely picking up my game here!

If you missed out on this year’s conference, fear not! Next year, the Alpha International week will be happening, with the first 2 days of the week dedicated to the Leadership conference (again at the Royal Albert Hall). Confirmed speakers so far include Bill Hybels, Nicky Gumbel, Steven Furtick and Patrick Lencioni – see this link for highlights and promo video: http://leadershipconference.htb.org.uk/

I highly encourage you all to book the times now for the 2013 Alpha International week (from 13th May 2013) – and lets bring as many as we can from South Africa!

Finally, Alpha Brazil has a great post with pictures and stories from the event here: http://storify.com/alpha_brasil/htb-leadership-conference - Sheldon Delport
